The area of the town belonged to Guaporé city initially, being dismembered in 1955, due to the emancipation of Casca city, when it was annexed to it.

In 1962, the Mayor of Casca, Mr. Arcido Perin, sanctioned and promulgated the Municipal Law number 190, from December 12th, creating Santo Antônio do Palma District.

The history of this town was built with strength and wishes of progress of some people who settled here and, with their work, started to populate this place.
