Parque dos Pinheiros has a total area of 15,59 hectares of native wood, which explains its name. It is in downtown, with easy access through Independência and Barão do Rio Branco Streets. There you can enjoy pleasant moments walking around the lake, observing the birds and the nature. Thre is a restaurant in the park, opened daily from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Besides the artificial lake, there is a swimming pool, walkway, playground, skating rink, soccer court and beach volleyball.

The wood of the park can be visited through the ambiental education project Trilhas no Parque (Tracks in the park), which offers visits leaded by a biologist for schools and groups, giving general information about the flora and its peculiarities. The path is one kilometer distant.
